Because we didn’t get enough of it this afternoon, time for some injury news…
- Tim Norton was placed on the disabled list for an unknown reason today, less than 24 hours after his successful Triple-A debut. It’s another shoulder issue, which sucks because apparently he was being considered for a call-up to the bigs. No luck.
- Remember Justin Maxwell’s jammed shoulder? He really tore his labrum. Had surgery and is out for the year.
- Mark Prior did NOT have hernia surgery, he is out with an abdominal injury according to Brian Cashman. Still no word on his timetable.
- As for some good news, Jesus Montero has been cleared to play following his eye infection. He missed a total of three games.
Meanwhile, Joel Sherman says the Yankees are leaning towards promoting Kevin Whelan in the coming days, which is close to a no-brainer at this point. And finally, Brad Halsey was sent to High-A Tampa, taking the place of Ronny Marte. Watch, he’ll come up and be the LOOGY savior later this year.
