Things are very simple today. If the Yankees win, they will clinch not only the AL East title, but also the best record in the league. They can also clinch the division with an Orioles loss, but I’d rather not count on the already eliminated Rays for help. So after six months and 161 regular season games, all the Yankees need to do is win one more game. Controlling your own destiny is neat. Here’s the starting nine…
SS Derek Jeter
LF Ichiro Suzuki
3B Alex Rodriguez
2B Robinson Cano
RF Nick Swisher
1B Mark Teixeira
CF Curtis Granderson
DH Raul Ibanez
C Russell Martin
RHP Hiroki Kuroda
The weather in New York isn’t all that great, but doesn’t seem like anything that should delay or (worse) postpone the game. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm ET and can be seen on YES locally and ESPN nationally. Enjoy.
